The Mobile App Developer plays a key role in the modernization of HealthPlanOne online, React Native mobile, and backend platforms.  The Mobile App Developer will work with the engineering team to build and enhance a suite of applications supporting agent sales and involves full-stack development, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering production-ready solutions with minimal user adoption friction.  An engineer in this role will take initiative to constantly look for ways to improve systems, will deliver quality solutions, efficiently, and with less reliance on peers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with deep expertise in mobile applications, .NET and database technologies and a strong understanding of software architecture and best practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Mobile App Developer for projects of moderate to high complexity across web and cross-platform mobile applications (React Native for iOS and Android)
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and APIs to ensure reliable and scalable data flow
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure seamless and intuitive mobile user experiences across iOS, Android devices, and related web properties
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and APIs to ensure reliable and scalable data flow
• Develop technical specifications and architecture
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and programming best practices
• Assist with solution estimation and establishing standards
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Proficient in React, React Native and knowledge of C# and .NET framework
• Experience deploying and maintaining React Native applications on iOS and Android platforms (App Store and Google Play)
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL Server)
• Experience building or integrating mobile applications
• Experience with modern DevOps toolchains & build pipelines
   

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with Azure Cloud Services
• Experience with Git Repositories and Source Control
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum and Sprint Methodologies
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
Frequent use of a computer, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment such as a telephone, copier, and printer.
Must be able to communicate effectively, including exchanging information in person, in writing, by telephone, email or video conferencing.
Visual and auditory acuity required to perform job duties effectively, including reading, writing, and interpreting information on screens or in print.
Hand dexterity, fine motor skills needed to operate a keyboard and mouse efficiently
Reach with hands and arms occasionally

For Hybrid Roles:

Must be able to commute to an office setting as required, which may include walking short distances and navigating an office environment.
Occasionally moves about the office to access files, office machinery, and meet with others.
