Summary 

This position is an entry level leadership position focused on providing plant care, nursery maintenance, loading outbound trucks, and unloading inbound products. Must display excellent customer service skills when greeting and conducting business with internal and external customers.   


Primary Responsibilities  

  • Execute directives from Nursery Manager and Branch Manager 

  • Demonstrate the ability to be a team player and capacity to lead by providing inspiration and guidance to the operations team.  

  • Receive, unload, count, position, and maintain all plants and associated material on the sales yard. 

  • Serve customers in the yard. Build relationships with foreman and crews associated to our customer base. 

  • Use and operate radio communication with the sales office. 

  • Select and stage orders for customers as directed by branch management and sales staff. 

  • Own the responsibility of plant care via space, jam, prune, weed, fertilize, water, or take other plant care measures to keep plants healthy. 

  • Load sales orders onto trucks for delivery/pick-up; maintain accurate paperwork and accurately audit material during the loading/unloading process.   

  • Capitalize on opportunities to increase productivity by leading operational initiatives and tracking quality at the source. 

  • Lead the operations team in practicing safe work practices and behaviors. 

  • Operate and maintain MNI Direct owned, leased, rented vehicles and other equipment to OSHA standards as required. 

  • Perform other duties as required. 


Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Training 

  • Education 

  • High School diploma or secondary diploma or equivalent desired. 


Skills and Training  

  • Ability and desire to do the job once and right, exhibit pride in work.    

  • Friendly, outgoing, cheerful, professional  

  • Great at verbal communication, with clear understanding when speaking (Fluent English) Bilingual English/Spanish preferred  

  • Valid driver's license (Current State) and active DOT health card required.  

  • Ability to accurately maintain and submit driver logs.  

  • Ability and desire to learn plant names and location in the yard.  

  • One or more year of safe driving record  

  • Ability to find locations on a map or other device and plot a course to those locations.  

  • Previous experience driving a 26' straight truck strongly preferred.  


Physical Requirements   

  • Prolonged walking and standing.  

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.  

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (M-F) including early mornings, after business hours and occasional weekend deliveries. 

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, such as heat and cold, wind and rain, etc.  

Skills Required
