Job Description
Join BAE Systems' Air & Space Force Solutions and be part of a diverse and enthusiastic team that solves some of the world's most complex technical challenges. For the eighth consecutive year, BAE Systems was named among the Salt Lake Tribune's "Top Workplaces" by our employees, earning special distinction for providing a healthy work-life balance for our valued employees. We work very hard to ensure this is a great place to work!
BAE Systems is looking for a qualified Test Engineer with people management skills to join our Mk21A Reentry Vehicle team. In this role, you will support defense acquisition and deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter at Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). As a key member of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) IPT, your primary focus will be ensuring program ground tests effectively support the qualification of the Mk21A reentry vehicle.
We're seeking a Test Engineer with experience in testing complex systems, with a strong understanding of Test and Evaluation principals. You will provide weapon system expertise and lead integrated engineering-level assessments of analysis, verification, and validation. A key aspect of this role is integration with outside stakeholders, including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), National Labs, as well as the prime contractor. This role involves leadership and technical support for subsystem and system level ground testing activities, and the development and coordination of test plans and required test analysis documentation.
This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of our nation's newest re-entry vehicle-the national security critical backbone of our nuclear deterrent capability. A successful candidate is creative, flexible, and comfortable handling diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities. Job location will be at Hill AFB, Utah.
Additional responsibilities include leading and managing a team of engineers, conducting performance reviews, and managing professional development. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating design, production, and test deficiencies that could impact successful development, and developing detailed briefings for Air Force leadership on Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities.
Why Utah? You've got to see it to believe it! Utah is an amazing state with diverse geography, a unique culture and an exceptional quality of life. We are located north of Salt Lake City at the foot of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. The area offers an incredible range of outdoors pursuits across the seasons including hiking, climbing, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, mountain biking, and world-class skiing at resorts that hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. The state is home to five amazing National Parks and an easy drive from two more; Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The Salt Lake City area offers a vast array of cultural activities and businesses including professional sports teams. It is a western hub for world-class, cutting-edge medical and health care.
Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, due to the special-access classified working environment and is not conducive to regular "telework" or remote schedules.
