Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager, Mission Assurance 2 to support the Software Business Area for the IBCS Program located in Huntsville, AL.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support and Mentor the Software Quality and Mission Assurance program team members by promoting professional development, fostering a collaborative environment, and endorsing ethical conduct
- Participate in program planning and execution, to include the design and implementation of program quality plans tailored to the appropriate phase of the program, customer requirements and overall trends or risk profiles.
- Routinely prepare and brief senior company leadership and senior customer (USG) leadership on complex quality and operational issues.
- Ensure that all quality contractual deliverables are thoroughly prepared and delivered in accordance with program schedules.
- Ensure that Software Quality/Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering processes are consistent with industry standards (e.g.: AS9100, AS9145 and ISO 9001.)
- Engage team members and drive effective Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) employing the appropriate quality tools (ex.: fishbone diagrams, Fault Tree analysis, 5-why analysis, etc.)
- Track and own all metrics related to program quality, provide inputs for monthly reporting as well as presenting quality results to program leadership
- Lead and participate in the continuous improvement of SQA command media, procedures, work instructions, tools, metrics, and training materials.
- Ability to represent data driven root-cause analysis and remediation reports to senior management.
- Provides guidance, leadership, and training all QA members integrated into the Agile SCRUM development teams and ensure consistency of our built-in quality efforts across all SCRUM teams.

The candidate must be able to establish strong, collaborative, working relationships with cross functional teams like Product, Operations, Project Management, and Development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience; Master’s with 6 years of experience, PhD with 4 years of experience. Will consider 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Mission Assurance, Software Quality Assurance, Agile software development, Quality management system, Systems Engineering, and/or Program Management experience.
- 5 years of Leadership experience
- Extensive Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) experience and demonstrated implementation.
- Demonstrated experience working within or managing AS9100 or ISO 9000 quality management systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with US Government customers (DCMA, Army Contracting Command, Integrated Fires Mission Command, etc.)
- Active or Interim Department of Defense secret clearance.
- Must be able to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a Software Quality Manager or a similar Mission Assurance role
- Hands on experience in Agile/Scrum
- Certified Control Account Manager (CAM)
