Engineering Earth’s lowest orbiting satellites to rapidly advance global connectivity and insight
The Role
The role involves designing satellites, analyzing orbital and RF link parameters, and ensuring readiness for space missions, while collaborating with engineering teams.
Summary Generated by Built In

At NewOrbit Space, our mission is to engineer the lowest orbiting satellites on Earth to rapidly advance global connectivity and insight.

We are currently building satellites that can operate at an altitude of just 200 km - one-third that of conventional satellites. Thanks to our propulsion system AURA, we can compensate for the atmospheric drag at ultra-low altitudes.

Please note that as we prepare for our maiden satellite mission, we are in a critical growth phase. That pace means that our roles will often require stretches of work beyond standard office hours.

Your Role

You have previously been involved in building satellites and missions that are currently flying in space. You will work alongside our mechanical and electronics engineers to ensure the success of our first mission. You should be capable of delivering a mission design from scratch and taking full ownership of it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage deep expertise in at least one satellite subsystem, such as attitude control, electronics design, structures, thermal control, flight dynamics, or other areas to refine our mission design.

  • Running orbital analysis (GMAT, STK), RF link analysis, mass and power budgets, redundancy planning, single-point failure studies, operations, ground segments, space environments, and satellite mechanical and electrical architectures.

  • Overseeing the major tests required to achieve space readiness.

Fundamental Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of all satellite subsystems with a focus on mission design and systems engineering.

  • Involvement In building several satellites or missions from scratch, which are currently operating in space.

  • Experience in propulsion system integration.

Why NewOrbit Space?
  • Pioneering Space Technology – You'll contribute to launching groundbreaking technology into space. Your work on our revolutionary ion propulsion system and ULEO satellite platform will redefine satellite operations and disrupt traditional LEO operations.

  • Unmatched Ownership and Impact – You'll experience a level of ownership that's rare in the space industry. You will participate in the full lifecycle of satellite technology.

  • Equity and Competitive Salary – You'll receive not just a competitive salary but also company ownership stakes. Your dedication and hard work are rewarded with a share in the technology you help build, ensuring you're a part of our collective success.

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package Including private health insurance with dental and optical coverage, annual healthcare check-ups etc.

What We Do

NewOrbit develops satellites to enable missions to the most beneficial orbits – Ultra Low Earth Orbits (180-220 km). By operating at altitudes, 3x lower than conventional satellites, we can observe the world more clearly and provide better connectivity services.
