An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Minor Works Manager - Capital Projects to join Service Stream undertaking the UU MECS contract

About the Role

Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Minor Works Manager - Capital Projects to join our growing company. The Minor Works Lead will provide leadership and direction to their team and provide leadership to other members of the MECS team, directing all activity necessary for the efficient and safe carriage of capital works projects

Nature of position:               Permanent, Full Time

Location:                               Brisbane, QLD

Reporting Line:                    Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
This critical role will oversee the development, growth, and profitability of our capital works portfolio within the MECS Contract, driving innovation, and delivering outcomes that align with our asset optimisation strategies. This role will require the operative to possess exceptional leadership skills, stakeholder relationship management and a proven track record of managing positive commercial and safe outcomes

  • Work closely with Process/Asset Optimisation lead/s to ensure industry best practices and constant continuous improvement efficiencies for the associated asset management practices
  • Manage cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Ensure clear, effective communication of the minor works schedules and associated requirements to facilitate smooth execution and management of all scheduled tasks
  • Verify that the minor works schedules accurately reflect the necessary sequencing and success to maintenance logic, and the minor works team to keep the contract/s aligned with annual baseline schedules
  • Assist in preparation of annual Minor Works budgeting and forecasting
  • Lead teams to implement necessary risk mitigation strategies to minimize the overall risk profile to each minor works project or other services that this team undertakes
  • Support the development, updating, and execution of client focused initiatives, ensuring that all team members within the minor works team fulfill their responsibilities effectively
  • Lead the development and delivery of minor and capital works projects, driving operational excellence, commercial performance and sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of the Works Program to ensure efficient, organized operations
  • Review and analyse production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with respect to work scopes
  • Ensure operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operational problems and improve quality assurance
  • Participate in the development, implementation and updating of the overall supply chain strategy
  • Prepare and deliver capital works reports to the PMT and JLT where required
  • Leading by example in demonstrating a commitment to Safe Work Procedures

About You

  • Preferable: Trade certificate in electrical or mechanical.
  • Advantageous: Leadership development training and further studies in TAFE or university relevant to the role
  • 10 plus years’ experience in delivery of construction/infrastructure projects.
  • Delivery of maintenance activities in both water and wastewater treatment and networks assets advantageous
