About the role

We are looking to add an Operations Supervisor to our growing Operations Department. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily activities of the operations team to ensure efficient and effective workflow. This role involves supervising staff, monitoring processes, implementing procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The Operations Supervisor works closely with other departments to optimize productivity, improve operational efficiency, and meet performance targets. They are also responsible for training and developing team members, troubleshooting operational issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This on-site position is based at our Rockdale, TX facility. 


What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes across all departments.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Coordinate and assign tasks to teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation and productivity.
  • Monitor equipment and system performance, troubleshooting issues to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Lead and manage a team of operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Liaise with other supervisors and departments to ensure seamless operations and communication across the site.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents.
  • Report to upper management on operational performance, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments to address concerns and streamline workflows.
  • Ensure timely completion of all operational tasks within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and operational disruptions, coordinating the resolution efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

What you’ll have

  • In-depth understanding of operational processes and procedures within the industry.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to the workplace.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Awareness of resource management principles, including labor and materials.
  • Understanding of data collection and analysis to monitor and improve operational performance.
  • Knowledge of team management principles, including motivation, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with relevant software for scheduling, reporting, and communication (e.g., maintenance management systems, project management tools).
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear and concise interaction with team members, management, and other departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies or operational disruptions effectively.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing conditions and adjust operational plans accordingly.
  • Ability to enforce safety and compliance standards consistently and effectively.
  • Capacity to make decisions independently, while considering the impact on overall operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization, from frontline staff to senior management.
  • Physical stamina to be on-site and perform inspections, especially in demanding environments.

Education and Experience 

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in a technical field with relevant work experience (acceptable in some industries).
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as OSHA, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP (Project Management Professional) are advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations management, production supervision, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment and systems relevant to the industry (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, mining).
  • Experience in implementing and enforcing safety protocols and compliance measures.
  • Track record of improving operational processes and driving efficiency gains.
  • Experience with project management and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Physical requirements and work environment

·       Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

·       Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (30-50 pounds)

·       Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)

·       Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures

Safety Requirements

  • PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots).
  • Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
  • Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents.
