The position of Mine Planner supports mine operations and associated service groups by developing mine plans, simulating production and grade from the developed mine plan, coordinates mining schedules with permitting and environmental personnel. Provides technical assistance to resolve operational problems or bottlenecks.
What will you do?
- Coordinate mining plans with and support other departments…provide mine planning data to Permitting, Environmental and Reclamation departments. Attend and/or chair meetings.
- Special projects- provide information to management, operations, finance and other technical groups to assist in economic evaluations and justify capital expenditures.
- Field Work - Tour and inspect operations, audit mining conditions and practices, make recommendations to optimize mining methods or resolve operational problems
- Develop, review and modify mine plans, edit Deswik drawings, ACAD drawings, GIS drawings, analyze and prepare data to run mine simulations.
- Run mining / production simulations short and long term, evaluate alternate scenarios for mining operations and other departments. Review historical and geological data along with computer software to constantly improve projections
What do you need for this role?
- Bachelors Degree required, major in Geology, or Engineering, preferred.
- 1+ years of mine planning experience
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications
- Deswik CAD and Sched
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office Suite
