MINE ENGINEER
The main responsibilities of the Mine Engineer are providing production and development mine planning services to operations through daily interactions and by participating in scheduled meetings. Act as a subject matter expert in mining activities in order to provide value to operations.
Where will you work: Onsite at Carlsbad, NM (76 Rawhide Rd., Loving, NM 88256)
Typical work schedule: 5am-2pm M-F (9/80 schedule with every other Friday off)
What you’ll do?
- Deliver upon short-term and long-term mine plans.
- Research, development and project delivery to ensure operations efficiency.
- Partnering and supporting capital projects related to sustaining the life of the mine.
- Participate in safety and continuous improvement programs. Ensure compliance with all safety and mine regulations, company policy and regulations.
- Provide engineering and miscellaneous support to management, supervisors, crews and contractors. Including report writing and documentation.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree required, major in Engineering (Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering preferred).
- Underground experience would be an asset, a general knowledge of electrical and mechanical workings would be a benefit as day-to-day work involves facets of each.
- Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.
- Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers.
- Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.
- In this position there is a large amount of work that is passed down. Being able to organize and do jobs in order of importance in a key part of the job.
