About the Role

As a Millwright/Mechanic at Zekelman Industries, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing tube mill production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency, uptime, and product quality. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safe, efficient operations in an industrial manufacturing environment. It’s an ideal role for individuals who thrive on problem-solving, hands-on maintenance work, and ensuring equipment reliability.

Shift: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am

-Monday-Saturday

Pay: $35.46 + production incentive

What You’ll Do

  • Perform safe, effective mechanical maintenance and repair of tube mill production equipment in accordance with company safety policies and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

  • Inspect, monitor, and document equipment conditions using both manual and computerized maintenance management systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings to perform accurate equipment repairs.

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, cranes, hoists, measuring devices, and testing equipment effectively and safely.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to identify root causes and determine corrective actions.

  • Perform breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers to ensure continuous production.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring housekeeping is audit-ready following each task.

  • Provide guidance and support to co-workers and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding equipment or safety concerns.

  • Report any unresolved safety, quality, or operational issues to your supervisor promptly.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Proven mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read blueprints, use measuring tools, and operate both hand and power tools.

  • Experience with cranes, hoists, and mechanical systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Comfortable using computerized maintenance management systems.

  • Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace safety and collaboration.

Physical Abilities

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands to handle or feel equipment and materials.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling tasks.

  • Must be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts, fumes, and loud noise levels.

  • Regular, full-time, on-site attendance is required per the posted schedule.
