Under the direct supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)—in conjunction with the Charge Nurse on the unit—the Milieu Coordinator (MC) is responsible for the daily functioning of the therapeutic milieu. The Milieu Coordinator role is responsible for upholding the Hospital’s goals to provide optimal patient engagement in a milieu that is safe and therapeutic; reduction of incidents of restraint and seclusion or personal restrictions; production of a daily schedule of groups, individual work, and activities that allow patients to reduce acuity, develop a peer community, and discharge to the community of their choice. The Milieu Coordinator promotes facility values and philosophies in all aspects of treatment practice, in accordance with HBM policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws and regulation and licensure accreditation standards.
- Assists in the oversight of the Mental Health Technicians staff and their completion of assignments as assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer or designee including community meetings, observation checks, implementation of ordered precautions, and encouragement of patient participation in the milieu.
- Encourages staff to conceptualize and engage therapeutically, while modeling the application of care and/or evidence based practice.
- Assists in hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring of the Mental Health Technicians.
- Attends treatment team meetings as assigned to aide and provide on-site mentoring and role modeling of the Mental Health Technician duties
- Assists with conducting bi-weekly meetings and supervision session(s) with all Mental Health Technicians.
- Participates and is a role model in continued performance quality improvement on the unit(s).
- Works closely with the unit Charge Nurse to develop standardized practices and quality measures for the Mental Health Technicians.
- Assists and implements directions provided by the Chief Nursing Officer for the units.
Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:
- Education & Licensure (if applicable): Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, mental health or related degree required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting with leadership responsibility is required.
- Experience: Must have three (3) years of experience in an inpatient hospital psychiatric setting or equivalent. One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification and CPI training within (30) days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:
This is a full-time role and the expected compensation range for this role is $26.00 - $29.00 hourly. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Milieu Coordinator!

Skills Required
