In Zalando ZEOS (B2B Logistics), we aim to provide our partners with a profitable fulfillment experience, not only within Zalando but across multiple European marketplaces. We provide a holistic approach to delivering the optimal fulfillment solution to meet our partners’ needs by unifying these services under a single umbrella, and we see that Data and Analytics will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven insights and decision-making for our partners and business stakeholders.
As a Data Analytics Engineer within the B2B Logistics Data Engineering team, you will be working with Data Engineers, Analysts, Reporting Engineers, and Product Managers. You bring with you equal amounts of technical and business acumen. You will play a key role in designing and building an analytics data layer that will serve as the gold standard of KPIs for analytics and reporting stakeholders across the department.

You will join a relatively new and growing team of Data Engineers spearheading Data Engineering and analytics within the Connected Network department. We trust your entrepreneurial capabilities!

Work in a multi-functional setup to identify and support our partner’s analytics needs and use cases and collaborate across the engineering, reporting, and analytics teams to build and develop the analytics layer of our data platform.

You will enable stakeholders to work effectively and independently with data by designing, implementing, and testing high-quality data models adhering to engineering best practices

Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines feeding downstream applications to help our partners gain meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions to optimize and grow their business.

You are a true team player who believes in the power of a group rather than individuals

You have 5+ years of strong Data Engineering experience working with analytics and reporting teams and stakeholders

You are experienced in distributed data processing using Spark SQL and PySpark (Databricks is a plus)

You are proficient with Python with a passion for writing clean, modular, and maintainable production code

You are knowledgeable in SQL, Relational or MPP data warehouses, ETL design and development, pipeline orchestration;

Experience with a data visualization tool

You have experience building data solutions on cloud, preferably AWS

You can communicate complex business processes clearly and concisely, capture KPIs and analytics requirements from stakeholders and turn transactional data into aggregated datasets to enable reporting use cases

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a detail oriented and self-starter mindset. You value a diverse and fast-paced business environment, and hence balance your passion for big data and analytics with pragmatism to drive actions and impact

Knowledge on Airflow, Git, CI/CD, and DevOps are nice to have.
