Who we are looking for:

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Senior Fund Compliance Representative to join our Investment Compliance Team.  In this role you will:

Senior Fund Compliance Representative is responsible for daily compliance monitoring and reporting for various jurisdiction including Luxembourg, Ireland, US utilizing Charles River Development's Compliance system and other proprietary tools. Specifically, the Fund Compliance Representative is responsible for reviewing and/or assisting the Fund Compliance Administrator with compliance system alert validation, review reporting on security research, data clean up and data entry to help fulfill the daily compliance monitoring and assisting in the preparation of external client and internal reporting.
 

Some of your key responsibilities include:  

  • Monitoring of fund portfolios to ensure that funds are in compliance with regulatory documentation guidelines, in accordance with department schedule,
  • Reviewing reports produced from the compliance monitoring system, Charles River Development, take proactive steps to communicate any compliance issues contained in the reports and to develop resolutions of such issues,
  • Completing testing on rules that are set up through Charles River Development and research any inquiries that may arise,
  • Assisting the Fund Compliance Supervisor and Manager in developing ways to enhance and automate the compliance function for areas that are manual,
  • Developing and maintaining work familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretation governing the administration of mutual funds.  This includes the UCITS, UCIs, SIF, 40 Act laws and other applicable requirements,
  • Performing special projects as assigned by the Manager,
  • Developing and maintaining methods to enhance procedures with respect to the compliance monitoring function,
  • Assisting in the implementation and ongoing development of the automated compliance program and any further enhancements,
  • Developing and maintaining a strong client service relationship with clients.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance or business-related area,
  • 2-5 years of experience in Investment Fund Compliance, Depositary or other financial services related area,
  • Familiarity of investment funds and financial instruments,
  • Good understanding of UCITS, UCIs, 40 Act regulations or other investment funds' regulatory frameworks is considered a plus,
  • Experience with Charles River Development Compliance Master system, MIG, Bloomberg, Reuters is considered a plus,
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye to details, demonstrates initiative and ownership,
  • Team oriented, adaptable to changes, ability to cooperate with other departments and external clients,
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office,
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
