cFocus Software seeks a Mid-Level Systems Architect to join our program supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is on-site in Springfield, VA. This position requires a Public Trust Clearance

- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related fields
- 5+ years of experience working with Data Repositories based on cloud infrastructure (e.g., S3 Buckets)
- 5+ years of experience working with Geodatabases including but not limited to geodatabase design, geodatabase architecture, geodatabase metadata design, creation, and maintenance, and repository creation.
- 5+ years of experience conducting Geodatabase warehouse(s), including, but not limited to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and statistical methods.
- 5+ years of experience working with Geodatabase dictionaries that monitor standards and procedures and integration of systems through geodatabase design.
- 5+ years of experience working with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Camtasia, Python Scripting, and Drupal
Duties:
- Provide oversight and expertise in the areas of architecture analysis and assessment, systems design, integration, implementation, and operations and maintenance, and other geospatial support services to mature and execute program requirements.
- Provide systems engineering and administration support to large geospatial program.
- Provide technical and analytical expertise designing, developing, enhancing, testing, debugging, and implementing GIS software in accordance with software development best practices.
- Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products based on government requirements.
- Research emerging geospatial technologies to support proof-of-concept capabilities and identify future solutions for enterprise and operational business lines.
- Evaluate technical trends and recommend technology and architecture to meet business requirements and support analysis of alternatives for best fit.
- Coordinate with the government to ensure all activities are in accordance with DHS geospatial standard operating procedures, federal doctrine, legal authorities, and DHS management directives.
- Design geospatial architecture to meet the organization’s operational requirements, ensuring scalability and redundancy.
- Contribute to architecture plans that ensure geospatial systems and solutions are optimized, resilient, scalable, interoperable, and based on open standards in support of geospatial data program requirements.
- Adopt optimal strategies for integrating geospatial data with enterprise databases and other related systems.
- Ensure interconnections and applications to support cross-domain workflows between new or existing geospatial systems.
- Support system owners and administrators in the development and maintenance of technical architecture documentation, diagrams, and artifacts to support operations and maintenance.
- Leverage DHS internal platforms, such as the GII Portal, and external platforms, such as the GeoPlatform, to support and optimize geospatial data program infrastructure.
- Support cloud-based GIS systems and services, including system migration, hybrid cloud environments, internal servers, and ongoing maintenance.
- Apply expertise to make recommendations on network processing, client/server relational database structure, data storage, data access, systems integration, IT security, and application interfaces and solutions for network problems.
- Supply the necessary resources with the ability to troubleshoot, rectify, and immediately report upon any data outages, whether the issues arise internally or externally.
