Torch Technologies' Innovation through Integration (I2) Business Unit focuses on integrating technologies to deliver innovative solutions for our customers, and we're growing to meet increasing demand. We're looking for creative, imaginative teammates like you to join us. I2 specializes in visual solutions backed by real data. As a member of our team, you'll build compelling visual interfaces — ranging from gaming UIs to web-based applications — powered by a back-end data pipeline, and you'll collaborate closely with peers from across I2.
Torch Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the Integration (I2) Business Unit.
Job Responsibilties:
- You'll work alongside developers, artists, and customers to build quality software products, supporting multiple interconnected applications within a single project.
- These applications integrate with an internal backend toolset to present simulation data in a way that helps soldiers make better tactical decisions.
- Designs, develops troubleshoots and analyzes software programs for computer based systems.
- Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis.
- Designs and develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.
- Advises hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed and input/output requirements.
- As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing with game engine technology such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or CryEngine.
- Proficiency in a programming language such as C, C++, C#, or Java.
- Strong, natural problem-solving skills.
- Ability to contribute to multiple codebases simultaneously.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.

As an I2 developer, you'll be given the flexibility and support needed to grow into a valued teammate. Below is an estimated timeline of what you can expect during your first year.
30 Days
- Meet the team.
- Understand the goals of each project the team supports.
- Connect with colleagues across multiple projects.
- Develop a significant feature.
- Grow comfortable navigating part of the codebase.
- Apply for a security clearance.
90 Days
- Participate in tests and demo a feature to internal project leadership.
- Become comfortable with a specific feature set in each codebase.
- Architect and present a feature set to the development team.
1 Year
- Attain an active security clearance.
- Establish yourself as an integral part of the development team.
