Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Precision Engagement Systems is seeking a Mid-Level Project Engineering Manager to lead a team in Saint Charles, MO.  The portfolio includes multiple programs providing mission critical capabilities across a diverse customer set.  The organization is responsible for end-to-end system solutions from requirements, development, test, production using disciplined engineering and program management best practices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of engineering processes, ensuring the successful integration and testing of complex systems, and managing a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs. They will also have proven experience in a leadership role, including managing teams and driving project success as well as a strong understanding of engineering and program management principles, methodologies, and tools.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees within multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Leads, develops, and motivates program personnel across the organization.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Ensures integration of engineering risks & issues.
  • Drives opportunity identification and capture.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Applies and utilizes enterprise tools and strategies for export compliance under both ITAR and EAR jurisdictions.
  • Leads an export-compliant program in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience with export compliance or international programs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Program Management Best Practices.

  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline or MBA.
  • Previous management experience. 
  • Previous international customer experience.
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Can up-level existing team by hiring high performance talent, growing leaders and helping underperforming members.
  • Can gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $155,550 - $210,450
