SAIC is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Cloud Security Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of cloud security and network security capabilities supporting complex enterprise and federal government environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking, cloud security, proxy technologies, SASE/SSE, and cybersecurity operations, with hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining proxy policies and resolving operational security and connectivity issues.

This position requires an engineer who is comfortable working in a customer-facing operational environment, managing O&M tickets, investigating technical issues, communicating effectively with customers, collecting system diagnostic logs/packet captures and escalating complex issues to senior engineering staff when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for cloud security, network security, proxy, and SASE/SSE capabilities.
  • Receive, investigate, troubleshoot, document, and resolve O&M tickets, incidents, service requests, and customer-reported technical issues.
  • Modify, implement, and troubleshoot proxy security policies and rules in accordance with approved security requirements and operational procedures.
  • Interface directly with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements, provide status updates, explain technical issues, and coordinate resolutions.
  • Analyze traffic flows, logs, alerts, and other technical information to identify the root cause of security and connectivity issues.
  • Work with network, cloud, cybersecurity, application, infrastructure, and service desk teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, ticket documentation, and knowledge articles.
  • Support and conduct implementation and testing of new security capabilities, technologies, and configuration changes.
Qualifications

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred (4 years experience in lieu of degree).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, cloud security, proxy administration, network security, or a closely related technical field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship. 
  • Minimum 1 year+ hands-on experience configuring and maintaining, SASE, or SSE technology such as Netskope, Blue Coat, Zscaler, or comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting O&M operations, including ticket management, incident troubleshooting, service requests, configuration changes, and issue resolution.
  • Experience analyzing network traffic, logs, alerts, and system information to troubleshoot technical and security issues.
  • Experience working with customers or stakeholders in a customer-facing technical support or engineering role.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience documenting technical issues, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and configuration changes.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on assigned technical tasks while collaborating effectively with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and technical issues in an operational environment.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree
  • At least five years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, cloud security, proxy administration, network security, or a related technical field
