Purpose of the role:
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our Business Central system. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the system meets our business needs, optimizing its performance, and providing technical support to users.
Providing technical support to company. This includes troubleshooting issues, answering questions, providing training, and escalating complex problems to senior team members. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Business Central functionality, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Development and Customization:
- Design, develop, and implement customizations and extensions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL language and development tools.
- Develop and maintain integrations with other systems and applications.
- Create and modify reports, forms, and data entities within Business Central.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
Implementation and Deployment:
- Participate in the implementation and deployment of new Business Central modules and functionalities.
- Configure and customize Business Central to meet specific business requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of customizations and integrations.
- Manage and deploy application updates and patches.
System Maintenance and Support:
- Provide ongoing technical support to Business Central users, troubleshooting issues and resolving problems promptly.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization.
- Perform regular system maintenance and backups.
- Document system configurations, customizations, and procedures.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements for new functionalities and system improvements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Participate in the design and development of solutions that meet business needs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Head of IT, project managers, business analysts, and other IT team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Provide training and support to end-users as needed.
- Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central updates and best practices.
What you'll need:
- Experience as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer/Engineer.
- Proficiency in AL language and Business Central development tools.
- Experience with Business Central extensions, customizations, and integrations.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and database management.
- Familiarity with web services and API integrations.
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Knowledge of financial and/or retail supply chain processes preferred.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certifications are a plus.
- Degree in Related Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience would be a bonus.
