About the Position:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Microsoft 365 Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will serve as the primary owner of our Microsoft 365 multi-tenant environment, responsible for administering, securing, and optimizing a modern, cloud‑first collaboration environment.
You will partner closely with IT, security, and business stakeholders to ensure Microsoft 365 services are reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs, while continuously improving usability, governance, and security posture.
This role is ideal for a Microsoft 365 professional who enjoys end‑to‑end platform ownership, deep hands‑on technical work, and partnering with the business to continuously improve a secure, modern workplace. Your Impact:
Key focus areas are outlined below. This role is not expected to support all functions simultaneously at all times, but to prioritize based on business needs.
Microsoft 365 Administration
- Administer and manage the full Microsoft 365 tenant, including user accounts, groups, licenses, and service configurations
- Manage M365 app deployments, licensing assignments, and subscription optimization
- Monitor service health, usage analytics, and capacity planning across the M365 environment
- Maintain clear and up‑to‑date documentation for systems, configurations, policies, and procedures
Security & Compliance
- Administer and enforce identity and access policies using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, and Identity Protection
- Manage endpoint security and device compliance policies via Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM)
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, and related security tooling
- Optimize email security through DKIM, DMARC, and SPF configuration, anti‑phishing policies, Safe Links, Safe Attachments, and mail flow controls
- Manage Microsoft Purview compliance solutions including DLP, retention policies, and eDiscovery
- Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and drive remediation efforts in collaboration with IT and security leadership
- Conduct periodic access reviews and security audits to support ongoing risk management
Microsoft 365 Tenant Migrations
- Plan, execute, and manage Microsoft 365 tenant‑to‑tenant migrations, including Exchange, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Teams content
- Lead pre‑migration assessments, cutover planning, and post‑migration validation to ensure minimal disruption to end users
- Utilize migration toolsets such as Microsoft FastTrack, BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, or equivalent platforms
- Document migration runbooks, timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and rollback procedures
- Support migrations as needed for acquisitions, divestitures, or organizational change
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of progressive experience administering Microsoft 365 in a production environment
- Comfortable owning a Microsoft 365 tenant end‑to‑end, from daily operations through strategic improvements
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on data accuracy, security, and process efficiency
Your Toolkit:
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online
- Working knowledge of Microsoft security tools including Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for M365 administration and automation
- Solid understanding of identity management, MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access policies
- Hands-on experience with M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations and associated tooling (BitTitan, ShareGate, FastTrack, etc.)
- Knowledge of email authentication standards including DKIM, DMARC, and SPF
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshservice) and ticketing workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert), AZ-900, SC-900, or equivalent
- Experience with hybrid environments (on-premises Active Directory + Azure AD Connect)
- Experience in a mid-size organization with multiple physical locations
- Experience working in wealth management or financial services industries
