The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Microelectronics Process Engineer to support the standup and maturation of a new microelectronics line at our Linthicum, MD facility, the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL). Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland – is where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry has unique capabilities supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable several Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.
Responsibilities:
The Microelectronics Process Engineer will be reporting to Assembly & Process Engineering Manager, will drive tool selection/recipe development/validation/maintenance of automation equipment including automated wafer probers and packaged device test handlers, ensuring efficient tool utilization and optimized hardware/software integration for electrical testing. In addition, Automation Engineer will support production sustainment efforts and develop/execute process/equipment improvement projects. Automation Engineer will work closely with Test Engineering and Equipment Engineering groups to ensure proper operation of the automation tools, meet target utilization rate, develop/maintain process documentations, and help troubleshoot test issues. As a tool owner, Automation Engineer will perform tool qualifications and periodic validation to ensure automation tools meet operational specifications, maintain calibration integrity, and setup/perform any Preventive Maintenance required. #NGATL

Basic Qualifications Microelectronics Process Engineer:
Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree with 2 years of relevant experience (Masters with 0 years exp).
Experience with SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Creo
Experience working in semiconductor fab and/or test operations.
Experience with purchasing manufacturing capital equipment tools
Experience with Microelectronics assembly and/or Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing
Experience with Kitting and Factory Logistics
Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports.
Experience with working on automation equipment and/or machinery.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with SCI clearance
Basic Qualifications Principal Microelectronics Process Engineer:
Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree with 5 years of relevant experience (Masters with 3 years exp, PhD with 1 year exp).
