Job Summary
Perform microbiological analysis on obtained samples of raw materials, intermediates and final flavor or seasoning products. Conduct environmental monitoring throughout the factory as per ESP and report results in the SharePoint.
- To ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the running of the QC/Micro laboratories as per requirements of the SGS LAB Approval Stds scheme
- To prioritize microbiological testing, trouble shoot and ensure that all administrative functions are performed, and records and documentation maintained according to regulations including different standards such as LAS and ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 requirements, thereby ensuring that effective customer service and food safety is rendered to all internal and external customers
- Perform additional/special microbiological analyses, e.g. Proficiency testing
- Performing the necessary calculations for the test results
- Interpreting and assessing analysis results
- Assessing options in the event of rejection by valuating results obtained through all testing (micro and analytical) and discussing out of specification results with colleagues and the QA Manager to assign appropriate status to non-conforming product.
- External testing of water; send samples annually as per SANS 241
- Send 50th sample to external lab for micro verification
- Manage all Allergen cleaning verification samples/tests necessary as per procedure
Perform cleaning validation every 3 years as per procedure
