Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Supplier Performance Management activities including but not limited to quality, risk management, schedule, and compliance.
- Lead a team of field engineers to develop, modify, apply, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for suppliers processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
- Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
- Collaborates with Category Management, programs, and other functional teams in supplier management activities such as, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard).
- Act with agility to business needs and interact in collaborative way to empower diverse, cross functional teams, including both internal and external members to achieve positive business results, including operating decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarification.
- Ensure timely review and approval of direct reports timecards and expense reports.
- Provide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports.
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is aligned with requirements.
- May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Selected candidate must be willing to work on EST time as this role is located in Maryland
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in STEM related field 5+ years of relevant experience; MS Degree 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing people or leading projects.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP and government standards) and Certifications.
- Experience with Root Cause and corrective action using industry Problem-Solving tools such as but not limited to Cause-and-Effect diagram, P/FMEA, etc.,
- Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in leading audits, New Product Introduction (NPI) and or Production Readiness Reviews.
- Ability to travel to our suppliers’ sites up to 25% of the time quarterly.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong passion and relentless drive for achieving results in a fast-paced aerospace engineering and manufacturing environment.
- US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills that demonstrate an ability to comprehend and explain objectives, initiatives, and complex program management competencies to a broad range of audiences.
- Ability to effectively lead supplier problem solving activities utilizing tools such as FMEA, SIPOC to evaluate the manufacturing processes.
- Experience in implementing APQP and PPAP processes.
- Experience in planning and organizing activities across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Extensive experience with leading process improvement projects
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance
Salary Range: $104,600.00 - $156,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
