This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Solutions Engineering team within Spain, Italy, Portugal and Malta with focus on technical sales. You will be responsible for establishing objectives and work plans and delegate assignments to the team. You will also be held responsible for ensuring that the SE organization is fit for purpose to meet F5 company goals
What you'll do
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
- Manage the (Spain, Italy, Portugal and Malta) SE team including conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time-off, assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, conducting performance improvement plans, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
- Define core FY objectives, strategy and priorities for Engineers for the assigned SE Team.
- Partner with management to define headcounts quarterly and yearly ensuring the SE organization is scalable to meet and exceed goals and objectives.
- Manage candidate recruitments in collaboration with HR.
- Organizational Effectiveness – may include but not limited to the following:
- Communication – ensure effective communication and create an environment of teamwork and cooperation with your department and the rest of the organization
- Develop and organize SE organization to meet/exceed goals. This includes both technical and professional development.
- Develop and maintain an effective SE partner plan (PS, support, Marketing, PM etc.)
- Strategic Planning – may include but not limited to the following:
- Scale the SE organization to best meet/exceed objectives
- Develop SE retention, recognition, compensation and career planning
- Develop SE skills assessment and job planning
- Ensure SE team is customer focused – may include but not limited to the following:
- Drive Product Requirements and Business Units
- Identify consistent market trends and communicate to PM, PD, etc.
- Ensure customer success
- Drive Customer Support awareness through a transparent escalation plan
- Customer/Partner management
- Manage post-sales issues and escalation with support team engage
- Present F5 strategy, solution messaging and roadmap
- Demonstrate ability to understand customer requirement and challenges and present related F5 solutions
- Business analyze and strategy
- Identify and communicate market trends to the Sales and SE organization
- Identify and analyze the competition
- Provide product feasibility analysis in support of sales efforts with sales representatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need
- BS or BA degree required or relevant work experience
- A number of years' experience managing technical SEs in a management role
- Thorough understanding of networking technologies and applications delivery
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technologies
- Self-motivated and have the ability to persuade direct reports and others outside the organization
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within an organization

The annual on target earnings (OTE) range for this role in ITALY will be EUR 115 200,00 - EUR 172 800,00: In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible to participate in F5’s commission plan. This role will be subject to a 80:20 split , and subject to the terms of the applicable commission plan.
