Job Summary:
Manages preconstruction individuals to deliver high-quality results and foster professional growth. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive accurate estimating, value engineering, and risk assessment, supporting informed decision-making and project success. Oversees the preparation and review of budgets, schedules, and bid packages, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and organizational goals. Guides teams in identifying and resolving preconstruction challenges, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Advances organizational reputation by building strong client relationships and delivering transparent, high-quality preconstruction services.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads, manages, and develops a team of preconstruction individuals to achieve exceptional performance and encourage talent development.
Directs the preparation and validation of project estimates, budgets, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Coordinates with design, engineering, and procurement teams to integrate constructability reviews and value engineering into preconstruction planning while partnering with safety, project operations, scheduling, and field operations stakeholders, ensuring their insights are reflected in logistics, phasing, and cost assumptions.
Oversees the development and issuance of bid packages, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and client expectations.
Guides the identification, assessment, and mitigation of complex, escalated project risks during the preconstruction phase and leads client meetings and presentations to communicate preconstruction strategies, progress, and recommendations.
Supports the negotiation of standard and complex contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and adherence to project goals.
Coordinates and strategizes with SPW and Family of Companies involvement by ensuring scope clarity, appropriate risk allocation, and competitive positioning, and oversees bid solicitation, scope leveling, final pricing review, trade partner risk and opportunities in partnership with Sr and Lead estimators.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
7 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management, or a related field required.
1 - 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
None required.
