Job Purpose:
- The Manufacturing Engineer at MIDCON CABLES CO INC will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes, specifically focusing on cable harness assemblies. This position is responsible for leveraging engineering expertise to improve production techniques, ensure quality standards, and support the development of innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and adherence to customer specifications.
- Utilize Auto CAD and other 3-D design software to create detailed engineering plans and technical drawings.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Provide hands-on support to the manufacturing team, addressing any issues that arise during the production process.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities, focusing on methods improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support as required.
- Maintain detailed documentation of engineering processes and changes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Lead and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in manufacturing engineering to drive innovation within the company.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Required Experience:
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
- Experience with cable harness assemblies

Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering with cable harness assemblies

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and windows-based programs
- Familiarity with Auto CAD and other 3-D design software packages
- Ability to work in a self-directed, cross-functional work team environment

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Customer communication skills
- Excellent written and organizational skills
- Strong project management background with emphasis on methods improvement
- Experience in providing hands-on manufacturing support

Skills Required
