Charter Aarrowcast is a leading provider of innovative cast metal solutions. Charter Aarrowcast produces ductile and gray iron castings for customers in various industries. From government and defense customers to agricultural and heavy truck equipment manufacturers, and an array of companies who need pumps, valves and compressors, Charter Aarrowcast works with its customers to create custom castings that are both efficient and cost-effective. This role requires a unique combination of external commercial expertise, and internal collaboration, including the ability to plan, favorably impact market dynamics and execute strategic plans, apply superior tactical knowledge of raw materials, while working in conjunction with Operations, Quality, Supply-Chain and Finance groups.

- Location: Woodstock, IL or Shawano, WI
- Schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Strong track record of success with at least 5 years of commercial experience in ferrous or non-ferrous metals or similar industrial material acquisition
- Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships
- Ability to understand material processing at supplier and Charter locations
- A strategic mindset with the ability to execute within an everchanging market

Preferred experience:
- Scrap metal purchasing experience with background working directly with scrap yards, as well as brokers, and for a metals manufacturer with melting operations.
- Experience in a team environment with downstream stakeholders.
What you'll do:
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships, externally across supply base and internally with partner departments. External relationship building primarily requires regular contact and site visits. Internal relationship building requires effective communication with partner Charter departments, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance.
- Territory Planning and Management: Work to develop and execute market penetration and optimization strategy. This includes (1) maximizing the quantity of commercially viable suppliers, and (2) maximizing the amount of economically viable scrap available to Charter’s mill.
- Account Strategy and Market Depth: Develop an understanding of scrap generation and supplier processing capabilities, value drivers, selling criteria, and counterparty options (NBA - next best alternative). Leverage this understanding to maximize business advantage to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
- Acquisition: Lead volume and price negotiations with supply base
- Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain knowledge base of suppliers’ and competitors’ industry position, capabilities, and offerings.
- New Account Development: Periodic identification and development of new suppliers that enter the Scrap Yard channel.

The annual hiring range for this position is: $80,000-$100,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
