Why This Role Matters
The Messenger Courier provides assistance to the Administrative, Rehabilitative, and Contract Operations departments through the timely transport and delivery of supplies, work materials, as required, and personnel when requested. This role includes the operation and maintenance of corporate vehicles, as well as the general support and distribution of company materials.
What You Will Do
- Transport Didlake products, subcontract work materials as required, and personnel when requested.
- Operate and maintain corporate vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Perform daily maintenance checks of vehicles and report any deficiencies.
- Plan schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relations.
- Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
- Responsible for Corporate internal mail and supply distribution between designated sites in the DC/MD/VA areas.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).
- Must be insurable under Didlake’s automobile policy. Must be at least 25 years old and have a minimum of 5 years of licensed driving experience.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong geographic knowledge of the D.C. Metropolitan area (Northern Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia).
- Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers, and Didlake clients.
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT Physical and drug screening.
