The Impact You'll Make in this RoleAs an MES & Industrial Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and deploying manufacturing system integration and automation solutions across Solventum's manufacturing network. Working closely with manufacturing sites, engineering teams, and digital technology teams, you will help implement standardized solutions connecting Critical Manufacturing MES, Ignition, PLCs, and enterprise systems to support manufacturing operations, quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Designing, developing, and supporting integrations between Critical Manufacturing MES, Ignition, PLCs, SAP, and other manufacturing systems.
- Partnering with manufacturing sites to gather requirements, define solutions, and implement standardized automation and manufacturing execution capabilities.
- Developing and deploying machine connectivity, workflow automation, data collection, and equipment integration solutions using industrial automation and software development best practices.
- Providing technical leadership for manufacturing systems projects, including solution design, vendor and contractor coordination, validation support, and deployment activities.
- Defining and maintaining standards, templates, and best practices for MES, industrial automation, and manufacturing system integration.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline, Computer Science, or Information Systems (completed and verified prior to start) AND three (3) years of experience implementing or supporting manufacturing systems, industrial automation solutions, and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platforms
OR
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, Computer Science, or Information Systems (completed and verified prior to start) AND five (5) years of experience implementing or supporting manufacturing systems, industrial automation solutions, and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platforms
OR
- High School Diploma/GED AND nine (9) years of experience implementing or supporting manufacturing systems, industrial automation solutions, and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platforms
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience leading technical projects involving multiple stakeholders, functions, and manufacturing sites.
- Experience translating business, operational, and manufacturing requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience using Critical Manufacturing MES and/or Ignition platforms.
- Experience integrating manufacturing equipment, PLCs, and shop-floor systems using OPC-UA, MQTT, APIs, or similar industrial communication protocols.
- Experience supporting manufacturing system integrations with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, including SAP.
- Experience working within FDA-regulated, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing environments, including computerized system validation and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
- Experience supporting recipe management, equipment integration, electronic manufacturing records (eMR), or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $106,000 - $145,750, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
