What your role and typical day might look like
As a Functional Consultant you form an important member of our delivery/project teams. Everyday you’ll bring your curiosity and Salesforce expertise to help find solutions leveraging best practices, business processes and unique industry knowledge in cross-functional teams.
This usually comes in the form of discovering and analysing business requirements, creating functional and technical documentation, and bringing innovative solutions to life within Salesforce in the form of high-quality configurations/builds and deployments. You’ll collaborate and communicate with our team and our clients’ team members to bring clarity and to showcase your work.
Responsibilities could include
- Work with your cross-functional client and Merkle team to contribute to requirement gathering sessions, including workshop facilitation, process mapping and documentation.
- With support from project leads, take ownership of design and build of Salesforce features.
- Collaborate with client team members to resolve issues, clarify needs and gather feedback on solutions.
- Support testing activity and complete quality documentation of solutions.
- Mentor, inspire, and motivate team members to produce high quality outcomes, ensure a high-quality output that meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Continuous development of your Salesforce knowledge through the attainment and maintenance of Salesforce certifications and related knowledge areas, including software delivery methodologies and best practices.
- Participation and contribution to internal learning initiatives and team building activities, enriching our dentsu and Merkle Aotearoa culture in your own way.
A bit about you
- Someone with around 2 – 5 years’ experience as a Salesforce Functional Consultant with good foundational knowledge in at least one of the core clouds; Sales, Service or Experience.
- Any knowledge or experience with CPQ/Revenue, Marketing or Industry Cloud would be a bonus but not mandatory for this role.
- Relevant Salesforce certifications and tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar area of study.
- A natural problem solver and interest in working in a consulting environment. Consulting or professional services experience would be an advantage but not mandatory.
- Business analysis and critical thinking skills to diagnose problems with users, create solutions and documentation.
- Experience working in Agile SDLC environments. Knowledge/experience in DevOps, ITIL, ITSM and CI/CD pipelines will be highly beneficial but not mandatory.
