Join the Merchant Services Business Development team! As a key member on the team, you will drive the end-to-end client experience. Many of our clients are moving into an embedded payment strategy for the first time and depend upon their Financial Institution to support that with expert counsel on best practices.
As an Executive Director of Business Development within our Payment Facilitation segment in Merchant Services, you will work with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) providing integrated payment solutions. Among the various solutions we support, you will be primarily focused on a payment facilitation offering to ISV's but will work in partnership with various sales teams in the integrated payments space to drive revenue opportunities across this segment. This is a sales role focused on engaging both new relationships and supporting current clients of JPMC. Your support for client opportunities in this segment requires clear understanding of the complexities around third party payment processing, a strong command of card payments, exceptional sales acumen, and strong commercial negotiation skills.
The JPMC Payment Facilitation solutions are supported by products across JPM Payments. Cross LOB collaboration is essential, and your ability to advocate for clients, build consensus, and engage internal stakeholders at all levels is essential. You will also act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting the broader field organization in evaluating potential third party payment opportunities.
Job responsibilities
- Cultivate new business opportunities by aligning with Commercial Banking and Treasury team to achieve individual sales goals.
- Source new business opportunities also through networking, cold-calling, conferences, and other means.
- Develop, pursue, and push through to closing high value opportunities for J.P. Morgan Payments.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments for prospect partners focused on their business needs and strategic priorities.
- Identify Merchant Services and Payment solutions proactively that can help our clients grow their business and drive new revenue
- Engage cross-Merchant Services and the Payments organization to form a solution to meet client needs and drive revenue
- Create and execute relationship-based calling plans for longer term opportunities
- Manage daily and weekly activities, pipelines, forecasts and closed deals to ensure above quota results based on successful pipeline management
- Serve as a business partner to stakeholders across JP Morgan Chase, Commercial Banking, Treasury Services, and Merchant Services
- Review the product roadmap and support various initiatives focused on this segment.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills'
- 10+ years payment industry experience
- Sales and Business Development experience with technology & ISV clients
- Strong knowledge of the merchant services industry, products and services with a strong technical acumen.
- Ability to articulate complex technical capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with complex payment models and building strategic initiatives with clients
- Track record of exceeding ambitious goals/quotas
- Executive presence
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a changing and challenging environment
