Role Description
The DS CoE Market Facing Manager along with the respective Finance Analysts will serve as a customer facing single point of contact for the DS CoE's key finance stakeholders and customers for a given business unit, site and/or market. This role will also manage the internal aspects of the DS CoE, including resource management, task allocation, workload balancing, quality assurance, and outsourcing vendor coordination/direction.
This role will coordinate the completion of all standard and ad hoc Finance requests within the DS CoE agreed upon scope and Standard Operating Procedures for a given business unit, site and/or market. This role will report directly to the DS CoE EMEA Lead and will be responsible for managing DS CoE resources to deliver DS CoE activities, tasks and deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion that meets or exceeds customer expectations. This role will also assist in delivery of analysis and reporting requests as necessary and supplement as an extra resource during peak workload situations.
This role will require strong leadership, coordination and analytical ability coupled with sufficient knowledge of business/finance. Additionally, it will require strong communication skills with management of various Pfizer groups in Finance and Digital and customer focused approach.
Responsibilities
The DS CoE Market Facing Manager is responsible for the following:
- Serve as a point of contact along with the Finance Analysts for site/market Finance Directors, Market Facing FBPs, and other Pfizer stakeholders to field requests and make sure that Finance needs are met, risks/issues are resolved, and quality of output is consistently delivered in accordance with service level expectations
- Direct and balance workflow to DS CoE Finance Analysts to ensure timely and efficient completion of ongoing/assigned tasks
- Develop, track and report on DS CoE Key Performance Indicators.
- Coordinate the completion of all standard and ad hoc Finance requests within his/her designated scope
- Conduct preliminary variance or other analysis as requested by Finance colleagues or delegated by DS CoE EMEA Lead
- Drive and enable Continuous Improvements in the DS CoE by constantly focussing on opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.
- Support DS CoE wide continuous improvements initiatives and ensure DS CoE is aligned to them.
- Act as member of the local leadership team supporting process review, team management and customer relationship.
People management activities will include:
- Assist in the conducting of recruitment, selection and hiring of full-time and consultant staff
- Conduct talent and performance review, development, goal setting activities for direct reports in accordance with Pfizer Human Resource standards
- Ensure Global and Site DS CoE Compliance with internal controls over financial reporting and other regulatory compliance areas, as required
- Determine and implement policies, procedures and service level expectations
As required, the DS CoE Market Facing Manager may additionally need to:
- Prepare written preliminary commentary on reports and analysis
- Assign/maintain status on projects and tasks to be performed by Finance Analyst roles
- Understand and apply knowledge of the systems landscape, particularly sources of information necessary for the completion of management reporting and analysis requests
- Understand and apply knowledge of best practices for data extraction and manipulation
- Work directly with Finance Colleagues when necessary to complete analysis and reporting requests in the absence of availability within the analyst levels

Qualifications and Technical Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 5 years of finance/accounting or related experience
- Solid experience in Finance reporting and planning processes and systems
- Team lead experience required
- Process-oriented with strong organization and planning skills
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Business English required
- Advanced understanding of finance IT system architecture may be required.
- Competency with spreadsheets & financial modelling (comfort with data manipulation and financial systems)
- Management Reporting and Analysis process experience required.
- Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to identify business issues/opportunities and to frame business questions
- Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial
