Summary Generated by Built In

We're looking for an MEP Specialist to drive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems from installation through inspection and turnover to the Quality Control & Commissioning (QCx) team. You'll be the primary field coordinator for your assigned MEP scopes—making sure systems are installed completely, pass inspection, and are handed over ready for safe energization, startup, and commissioning.

This is a 100% site-based role (roughly 60% in the field, 40% in the field office) with daily field walks. You'll report to the Area Superintendent and own a defined MEP package, system, building, or project area.

What You'll Do

  • Track installation status and completion across all assigned MEP systems; walk the field daily to verify progress and catch deficiencies early.
  • Coordinate inspections with Trade Partners, Quality Control, and AHJs—verify systems are ready, track results and punch lists, and drive deficiencies to closure.
  • Prepare and execute system turnovers to QCx: confirm completion, complete turnover documentation, lead pre-turnover walks, and clear punch items that affect energization or startup.
  • Build and communicate 2-week, 4-week, and milestone look-ahead schedules; flag schedule risks and recommend recovery plans.
  • Serve as the field point of contact for your systems, coordinating multiple Trade Partners and resolving issues on the ground.
  • Support Right-The-First-Time (RTFT) objectives by identifying problems before turnover.

What Success Looks Like

  • Systems completed and turned over to QCx on schedule
  • High inspection pass rates and fewer failed inspections
  • Complete, accurate turnover packages with minimal punch list items
  • Reliable progress reporting and forecasting

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in construction field coordination, QA/QC, commissioning support, or MEP installation oversight—ideally on large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they get installed, inspected, and turned over.
  • Experience coordinating Trade Partners and reading construction schedules, drawings, and specs.
  • Familiarity with the inspection process, including working with AHJs and managing punch lists to closure.
  • Strong field presence—comfortable driving accountability with foremen and superintendents while keeping relationships solid.
  • Clear, consistent communicator who can report status and flag risks without being asked twice.
  • Able to navigate active construction sites and perform extended daily field walks.

Nice to Have

  • Direct data center or mission-critical infrastructure experience.
  • Exposure to commissioning (Cx/QCx) processes, energization, and startup.
  • Familiarity with turnover/commissioning software (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, or similar).
  • OSHA 30, and any relevant electrical, mechanical, or quality certifications.
  • Background working alongside EPCs, electrical contractors, or ENR-ranked GCs.

What's in it for you

  • Opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Work a guaranteed 50 hours per week (10 of those hours are OT)
  • 7 days per week per diem
