Christman Facility Solutions is looking for an MEP Department Manager to join our Dallas, Texas region. This role will oversee the management and operations of the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Datacom department of CFS.
What You Will Do:
As MEP Department Manager, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Manages personnel assigned to the CFS MEP department.
Works closely with and thoroughly communicates with CFS leadership to ensure alignment of objectives.
Creates, modifies, and implements processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance throughout the department.
Works closely with CFS division managers to coordinate strategy and share resources to bring the greatest benefit the overall organization.
Engages in the onboarding process to support growth and manage attrition.
Properly prepares for, attends, schedules and leads meetings as required.
Works closely with external departments and maintains collaborative and supportive working relationships across the enterprise.
Manages, tracks and supports department personnel to ensure that proper training and/or continuing education is completed in a timely manner.
Attends company and business development functions as required.
Engages in business development and utilize existing relationships in the market to support the growth efforts of Christman.
Monitors and manages project financials as well as overall department financials.
Ensures weekly timecards are properly entered for assigned employees.
Properly prepares for and performs yearly evaluations for assigned employees.
Works with fellow leaders to develop and implement a strategic plan each year, ensuring the continued success of the business unit.
Leads the response to client RFP’s, working with marketing, project planning, and operations leaders to ensure a complete proposal is submitted, and clearly communicates CFS’s approach and qualifications.
Supports project planning/estimating teams to ensure project budgets are maintained throughout design.
Develops preliminary cash flow reports, schedules, and other project documents as needed.
Oversees the development and issuance of all bid packages, ensuring risk is mitigated through proper buyout and contract execution.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related job field.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct construction management experience including the management of individuals and teams.
Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-or- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Advanced industry knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing fields.
Well organized, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and negotiation abilities.
Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities, management styles, and team compositions.
Team player and with strong interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills
Experienced in managing projects large in scale, size, and complexity. Proven success managing multiple projects concurrently.
Comprehensive knowledge of and experience managing multiple delivery methods – General Construction, Construction Management, and Design-Build.
Well-developed sales and business development skills with the ability to grow the business with new and existing clients.
Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
