The Membership Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for YMCA members and visitors, providing excellent customer service and support for all membership-related activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet members and visitors warmly and provide excellent customer service.

  • Assist with membership sign-ups, renewals, and account management.

  • Provide information about YMCA programs, schedules, and facility use.

  • Handle payments, check-ins, and membership-related inquiries efficiently and accurately.

  • Manage member concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe front desk and lobby area.

  • Support YMCA programs and events as needed, including administrative assistance.

  • Uphold YMCA core values and model a positive, welcoming environment for all participants.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a high-quality member experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods while greeting and assisting members.

  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to interact with members and operate front desk systems.

  • Basic mobility to move around the facility and assist with program or administrative needs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous customer service or administrative experience is beneficial.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in high-traffic or challenging situations.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling payments, data entry, and member accounts.

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

  • Basic computer skills to operate membership systems and process transactions.
