Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is the oldest conservation and recreation organization in the United States. Our mission is simple yet powerful: foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. With a focus on protecting mountains, forests, waters, and trails throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, we envision a world where our natural resources are healthy, loved, and always protected, and where the outdoors occupies a place of central importance in every person's life.

The Membership Coordinator plays an important role in helping AMC grow and engage its community of members. Reporting to the Senior Director of Membership, this position combines member service, data analysis, campaign support, and operational excellence to strengthen the membership experience and help advance AMC's mission.

  • Manage day-to-day membership operations, including membership processing, account maintenance, benefit fulfillment, renewals, and issue resolution.
  • Support membership acquisition and renewal campaigns through audience segmentation, data preparation, quality assurance, reporting, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Partner with the Membership, Marketing, and Development teams to execute annual member fundraising appeals that inspire members to deepen their support of AMC's conservation and outdoor recreation mission.
  • Support the project management of various membership related projects and initiatives including technology implementations, events, member communications, etc.
  • Monitor member engagement across programs, volunteer opportunities, events, lodging, and other touchpoints to identify opportunities to increase participation and long-term retention.
  • Maintain the integrity of membership data within Salesforce and related systems, ensuring accurate records, reporting, and cross-departmental coordination.
