POSITION DETAILS
Winrock is recruiting a MEL Specialist for the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Reforestation project in Nepal.
This position is contingent upon award.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSBILITIES
- Develop and implement a comprehensive MEL framework tailored to compensation reforestation activities.
- Design and manage databases for tracking project indicators, outputs, and outcomes.
- Lead digital data collection efforts using appropriate tools and platforms.
- Analyze data and produce visualizations to support adaptive management and stakeholder reporting.
- Ensure MEL activities align with project goals, donor requirements, and national environmental standards.
- Provide capacity building and technical support to implementing partners and field teams.
- Contribute to periodic evaluations, learning reviews, and knowledge dissemination.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline. Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project monitoring and evaluation, including projects focused on reforestation, forestry, environment, or natural resource management.
- Proven experience in developing and managing MEL frameworks for reforestation or similar environmental projects.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage databases and reporting systems in at least two projects.
- Proficiency in digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO) and analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, or Power BI).
- Strong skills in data visualization and adaptive learning approaches.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience providing quality assurance on data collected by partners
