The Role

The amount of data in NN Group Finance is vast and growing exponentially. These large and rapidly expanding volumes of data can only be used effectively when transformed into meaningful information. This requires the data to be correct, accurate, appropriate, complete, timely, and consistent. That’s why we are now hiring a Medior Data Engineer, with a primary focus on Azure Data Factory, based in the Czech Republic.

 

What is the purpose of the position?

We are looking for a new colleague to support our efforts around the Azure-native Investment Operations Data Transformation Platform (IODTP). The main function of IODTP is to ingest transactions from Front Office trading systems into our SimCorp Dimension Asset Accounting system.

 

The tasks you will perform

  • Building and maintaining data pipelines for data ingestion and export.

  • Creating data quality controls and validation checks within the pipelines.

  • Helping to extend the data model of the Unity Catalog data store.

  • Participating in testing and bug fixing.

  • Collaborating closely with other team members in an Agile and DevOps-driven environment.

  • Identifying and implementing improvements in areas such as automation, cost optimization, security, and performance.

 

The knowledge and experience you bring

  • A completed Master’s degree.

  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory is a must, and knowledge of Databricks is a plus.

  • Experience managing end-to-end data workflow, from ingestion to loading, and hands-on pipeline development.

  • Familiarity with working in an Agile environment within a corporate setting.

  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of the financial industry, and solid understanding of investment processes and various financial instruments is a plus.

How we hire

The selection process typically consists of two rounds, usually held online. If an in-person interview is required, we will inform you in advance. In the first round, you will meet Petra and Marian (Data and BI Engineering Team Lead). In the second round, you will meet relevant stakeholders, often our colleagues from the Netherlands, where our headquarters is located.
