Medior Backend Software Engineer

We are looking for a Medior Backend Software Engineer to join our development team. Reporting to the Application Tech Lead, you will contribute throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

You will work on cloud-based applications built with Angular and Java Spring Boot in a microservices ecosystem. Working closely with other developers, Tech Leads, Product Managers, and UX/UI designers, you will help deliver scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly solutions for the ports and terminals industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web application features using Java (Spring Boot).

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Managers, and UX/UI designers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and contribute to event-driven integrations using Kafka.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code following development best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards across the team.
• Implement intuitive and responsive user interfaces based on UX/UI designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Create automated tests to ensure the reliability and quality of the delivered features.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with other team members.
• Contribute proactively to technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development (Java).
• Good knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, developing, or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication.
• Knowledge of clean code principles and software development best practices.
• Experience with automated testing on both frontend and backend applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks and challenges.
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to collaborate across different disciplines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and technologies.
• Empathy and understanding of customer needs to develop solutions that deliver real value and a positive user experience.

Preferred:

• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
• Experience with MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Docker and cloud-based development environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
