Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Media Tech Internship Program
Here at NBCU, we strive to be on the forefront of leading-edge technology and are seeking a savvy troop of technologists we call Media Tech Interns.
Our Media Tech internship program exposes students to technical opportunities across NBCUniversal's Operations & Technology organizations and serves as the primary pathway for consideration into our Media Tech Associate Program - a challenging two-year rotational program for individuals with a passion for technology. Many of our past interns have gone on to join the Associate Program, which helps participants jump-start their careers by promoting technical breadth through mentorship, networking opportunities, and technical training. As an NBCUniversal Media Tech Intern, you will gain hands-on experience, allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge to practical situations. We offer a 2-day in-person orientation in our NY office where we bring all interns together to meet each other and various business leaders.
Students will experience firsthand how one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world operates and delivers strategic, innovative solutions.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
- SAP Enterprise Engineering: We're in the SAP Enterprise Engineering Team currently supporting our legacy SAP ECC platforms as well as working on building our S/4 HANA system as part of Project Keystone. The intern will support building features or RICEFW's using SAP ABAP, UI5 and using SAP's BTP platform for different services using Gen AI, building Reporting solutions using data from different sources including SAP, and creating Technical Architecture and Specification documents.
- Platform Engineering: We are seeking a motivated SAP BTP Intern with a keen interest in Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM). The intern will support real-world cloud integration scenarios and application development projects under the guidance of experienced SAP BTP developers and architects. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge SAP Business Technology Platform services and gain hands-on experience in enterprise integration and application development.
- PDEX Engineering Experience: This intern would help our APIGateway team (PDEX org) to standardize, analyze, and maintain our API traffic across apps at NBCU. This role would provide exposure to multiple development teams across the business as well as cyber security and identity. The intern will create and maintain a central API catalog, collect and standardize OpenAPI specifications from various teams, build a reference guide for developers on how to request and use tokens for edge-protected APIs, analyze log data for JWT failures, schema violations, and latency trends and build dashboards showing API traffic metrics, and work with the API Gateway team to build and document automated pipelines for their services.
- Infrastructure Enterprise, IT: NBCU is looking for an IT individual to work closely with the Infrastructure Enterprise Analytics leadership. The current requirement is to collect and report Infrastructure data of servers, databases, web/app services, and storage devices. This data will be used to provide insights of allocated capacity and utilization of infrastructure to application portfolios.
- PDEX Emerging Tech: The intern will be an integral member of the Prism AI CORE team, engaging in a diverse range of projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance our AI capabilities across NBCU. They will interact with other engineering teams across Prism as well as the wider Operations and Technology org. They will also support users of the AI Gateway, one of the AI CORE services that supports engineering teams across Studios, Parks, News, and Ad Sales.
- GND Automation & Reliability: The intern will be exposed to the Global Network community and some of our stakeholders in Production Engineering. We have a number of exciting projects planned for the coming year, including the continued development of additional features in Mario, as well as extensive work on creating our own Observability platform to replace SevOne. This platform will feature an open Observability architecture with a homogeneous data lake.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 - August 7, 2026.
- Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Basic Knowledge of business processes including Finance, Procurement and Sales.
- Awareness about SAP, its capabilities, features, different modules and development frameworks.
- Proficiency in one programming language including debugging and deploying code.
- Programming language knowledge, codebase management, testing, and debugging.
- High level knowledge of business processes including Finance, Sales, and Procurement.
- Knowledge of LLM's and use of Gen AI capabilities.
- Basic understanding of integration concepts (APIs, REST, SOAP).
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, or Java.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and microservices architecture is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with SAP BTP, SAP CPI, or SAP CAPM.
- Exposure to tools like Postman, SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
- Understanding of CI/CD, Git, and test automation practices.
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 development is a plus.
- Familiarity with APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications - ability to read, edit, and validate schema files.
- Introductory networking knowledge - DNS, reverse proxies, load balancing, TLS certificates.
- Understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - especially concepts like EC2, VMs, security groups, or API gateways.
- Comfort with Linux command line tools - curl, netcat, ping, dig, etc.
- Scripting experience - Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating basic tasks.
- Version control - familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows.
- Experience in Microsoft PowerBI / Tableau reporting and visualizations.
- Experience with Linux administration.
- Familiarity with any of the following languages: vue.js, java, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Cellery, and Docker.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $40.00.
