The Media Associate is a strategic partner essential to advancing EiE's communication objectives, both internally and externally. This role is instrumental in elevating the organization's advocacy and civic engagement by translating complex data into powerful narratives. By acting as a vital link between analytical insights and creative storytelling, the Media Associate ensures that all campaigns effectively connect with varied audiences while remaining fully aligned with the organization's broader mission and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine civic, policy, and social data to craft compelling campaign stories. Track public opinion, media trends, and competitor actions to deliver weekly intelligence updates to leadership and program teams.
- Transform intricate reports, survey results, and statistical data into user-friendly advocacy resources, such as infographics, fact sheets, and engaging stories.
- Aid program teams in collecting communication evidence for grant applications and donor reports, while facilitating the rollout of digital initiatives.
- Locate and develop partnerships with media organizations, journalists, influencers, content creators, civil society groups, academic institutions, and private sector entities. Work alongside leadership to secure media coverage, co-branded projects, and pro bono contributions to expand campaign visibility.
- Document program impact through photography, videography, and interviews. Maintain brand consistency across all external channels, create messaging frameworks and digital toolkits, and oversee website content, blog posts, and monthly newsletters.
- Aggregate and present monthly reports detailing audience reach, engagement metrics, new partnerships, media coverage, and key research findings.
