As a Media & Community Relations Coordinator, you will be assisting the Director of Media & Community Relations in managing Agua Caliente Casinos outreach materials, developing and drafting media materials, in addition to developing strategies to increase brand awareness by cultivating strong relations with local, national and international media outlets, influencers, and the community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop strategies to successfully build relationships with media and ensure a positive representation of our brand.
  • Work closely with the communications team to tactically coordinate media efforts and public events.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with reporters, journalists, and arrange for them to cover events, press conferences, FAM trips.
  • Effectively coordinate PR efforts with various outside PR agencies and advertising consultants.
  • Create, maintain, and update targeted media lists.
  • Write press materials, including press releases, and media alerts.
  • Work with our Social Media team to identify and increase awareness to boost engagement, and drive social traffic to our website.
  • Analyzing the outcome of public relations campaigns and reporting the findings to management.
  • Provides excellent guest service to both guests and internal clients.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a relevant field.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience working in the public relations industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of public relations best practices, brand management, and media strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and members of the media.
  • Superb written skills and knowledge of press release style guides.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clearly communicate PR status to stakeholders and leadership
  • Create and maintain PR results and reports.
  • Perform essential office and clerical duties.
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required.

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.  Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment.

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
