Lead national and international implementation of an evidence-based nurse home visiting program.

The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Project Implementation Lead to provide leadership for the implementation of the Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-visiting (MECSH) program. MECSH is a structured, sustained nurse home visiting program designed to support families at risk of poorer maternal and child health and development outcomes through the critical early years of life.

Developed at Western Sydney University, MECSH draws on the best available evidence on early childhood development, parent infant interaction, and holistic approaches to family support. The program has demonstrated effectiveness through randomised controlled trials in Australia and is now implemented nationally and internationally, including in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Korea.

You will work closely with researchers, clinicians, clinical leaders and service managers to co-design and support high-quality implementation of the MECSH program across diverse service contexts. The role includes extensive domestic and international travel and contributes to implementation research through strong stakeholder engagement, supervision, training and community-of-practice leadership.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Strong stakeholder relationships maintained with internal teams and external partners.
  • Effective supervision of MECSH Local Implementation Network Consultants across Australia and internationally.
  • High-quality program advice provided to licensed and prospective MECSH sites and practitioners.
  • Co-designed implementation and training programs developed, delivered and maintained.
  • Active leadership of a national and international MECSH community of practice.

Please refer to the Position Description for full details.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in nursing or an allied health discipline with extensive experience in child and family health.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects in health service settings.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs and provide reflective practice supervision at an advanced practice level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with practitioners and health service management.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based program delivery, quality processes, and capacity to undertake extensive domestic and international travel.

Travel Requirements
This role requires regular domestic and international travel to support the implementation of the MECSH program across Australia and internationally. The successful candidate must be willing and able to undertake travel as required, including extended periods away from home, to deliver training, provide implementation support and foster relationships with MECSH partners and stakeholders.
