Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Mechatronics Engineer to join our team and help drive the transformation of industrial infrastructure through automation, digitalization, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Industry 4.0 technologies, smart infrastructure systems, and sustainability initiatives, contributing directly to operational excellence and cost optimization.

You will combine technical expertise in automation and industrial data systems with a growing focus on energy performance, sustainability reporting, and renewable energy initiatives. Your work will directly support better decision-making through reliable infrastructure data, increased transparency, and measurable sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Automation, Digitalization & Supplier Management (50%)

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve automation and monitoring solutions for industrial infrastructure and utility systems for high efficiency and cost saving.
  • Support and optimize PLC/SCADA-based platforms, including Siemens S7-1500 controllers, HMI applications, and industrial communication networks.
  • Enhance data acquisition and integration from utilities, metering systems, building management systems, PLCs, and energy monitoring platforms.
  • Design and improve dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools to increase operational transparency and support business decisions.
  • Diagnose and resolve automation, communication, and data-related issues while driving sustainable long-term solutions.
  • Evaluate and coordinate automation projects, balancing internal capabilities, external resources, costs, risks, and implementation timelines.
  • Manage external suppliers and integrators involved in programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
  • Ensure technical specifications, deliverables, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and successfully achieved.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to utilities and infrastructure systems, including HVAC, compressed air, steam, water, and electrical distribution.

Energy Data, Green Certificates & Sustainability Programs (50%)

  • Support Green Certificates and renewable energy initiatives through data preparation, documentation management, evidence collection, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze energy consumption data across electricity, gas, steam, water, compressed air, and other utility systems.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation, structured datasets, and technical evidence.
  • Contribute to sustainability reporting activities, KPI management, energy performance tracking, and improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with authorities, consultants, auditors, utility providers and internal stakeholders for reporting accuracy.
  • Translate technical and energy-related information into clear business insights, improvement opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Improve data quality, reliability and transparency to support sustainability and investment decisions.
  • Support projects focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration and infrastructure optimization.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Understanding of industrial automation systems, PLCs, SCADA platforms, industrial communication protocols and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
  • Structured approach to data management, documentation and project follow-up.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • English proficiency (minimum B2).
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with Siemens S7-1500, SCADA systems, SQL databases, Power BI, or similar reporting and analytics tools.
  • Exposure to energy management systems, utilities engineering, sustainability reporting or Green Certificates processes.
  • Knowledge of industrial infrastructure systems, including HVAC, compressed air, steam, water, or electrical networks.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and technical service providers.
