The Boeing Space and Launch Integrated Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the Satellite Systems Thermal and Fluid Engineering Lab Team located in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will be part of a high-performing engineering team that is immersed in development, qualification, and acceptance testing of Flight, Non-flight, and IRAD projects. This candidate will design and test to meet mechanical system and component requirements and establish mechanical systems design for Government and Commercial Satellite Programs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
- Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
- Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installation
- Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
- Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
- Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
- Work under general supervision
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final T5 Post-Start is required. This position is 100% Onsite.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

- Works well in a small lab team - demonstrated teamwork capabilities
- Motivated self-starter/quick learner and takes ownership of work

- Level 3: 5 years or more of experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering

Typical Education & Experience:
Associate, Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced, Level 3: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
