Position: Mechanical
Sourcing Engineer
Job Description:
The Mechanical Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for
the identification, development, and management of suppliers for mechanical
components. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective
procurement, timely delivery, and quality assurance of mechanical parts and
assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Component
Development & Sourcing
- Identify, develop, and
qualify vendors for mechanical components.
- Collaborate with design
and production teams for component feasibility and manufacturability.
- Commodity Expertise
- Experience with Sheet
Metal, Plastic Parts, Rubber Components, Fasteners, and Labels.
- Perform cost analysis
and estimation for these commodities.
- Costing &
Negotiation
- Conduct supplier cost
breakdown analysis.
- Lead cost
negotiations and finalize pricing with suppliers to achieve target
cost objectives.
- Tooling & Mold
Development
- Manage development of tools,
dies, and molds, including cost evaluation and supplier coordination.
- Vendor Development &
Management
- Identify vendors for
special processes and ensure supplier capability and capacity.
- Maintain supplier
performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compliance &
Standards
- Ensure adherence to
international standards (ISO / AS) related to supply chain and
sourcing.
- Procurement Process
& Delivery
- Execute purchasing
processes and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time availability of components for production.
- Communication &
Leadership
- Demonstrate excellent communication,
negotiation, and leadership skills for effective supplier management
and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills Required
- B.E. Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years relevant experience in mechanical sourcing or procurement
- Vendor identification and development for mechanical components
- Experience with sheet metal, plastic parts, rubber components, fasteners, and labels
- Cost analysis, supplier cost breakdown, and negotiation
- Knowledge of tooling, dies, and mold development
- Understanding of supply chain and purchasing processes
- Ensure adherence to international standards (ISO / AS)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
