Mechanical Responsible Engineer (RE) ⚙️
The RE holds full technical accountability for mechanical & ventilation engineering within their area, ensuring all work is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the project lifecycle 🔍.
Working to R2A2 (ED21), you’ll provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance, while retaining responsibility for key engineering decisions—even when delegated 👷♂️.
Key Responsibilities & Experience:
- Strong mechanical engineering background in regulated, safety-critical environments ⚠️
- Proven technical accountability & decision-making experience ✅
- Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and safety requirements 📜

Essential Qualifications 🎓
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline ⚙️
- Extensive experience aligned to a Responsible Engineer role 🏗️
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognised institution 👨🔧
- Able to meet security clearance & site access requirements 🔐
Key Experience 💼
- Experience as a Responsible Engineer or technical authority in nuclear/high-hazard environments ☢️
- Safety case development, substantiation & regulatory engagement 📊
- Full lifecycle delivery: concept → commissioning & handover 🔄
- Managing deviations, concessions & non-conformances ⚠️
- Strong understanding of governance, assurance & gated processes 🧩

Specialist Knowledge ⭐
- SQEP in high-integrity piping design (incl. seismic & safety case) 🔩
