Mechanical R&D Engineer
SUMMARY:
As the Manufacturing Mechanical R&D Engineer you will be responsible for leading the development of our aluminium and/or Carbon bicycle products from design review to production.
You will be responsible for working directly with Design engineers and the suppliers base to develop the manufacturing process necessary and qualify them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manufacturing Mechanical R&D Engineering for assigned Projects
• Review 3D/2D with manufacturers to identify potential manufacturing issues. Provide DFM feedback.
• Review and document manufacturing process.
• Work with suppliers to reduce manufacturing steps, increase manufacturing accuracy and repeatability.
• Develop check fixtures to ensure products meet GD&T drawing package.
• Work with suppliers to develop manufacturing fixtures, QC gauges and validate them.
• Work with internal and external test labs to review test results. analyzing failure modes and identifying ways to improve results.
• Work with suppliers to identify tooling and process issues; resolve them.
2. Communicate clearly and regularly with global teams on progress of projects. Conduct regular Video Conference meetings with global team on status of projects as well as design reviews.
WHAT YOU”LL NEED TO WIN:
• College degree in technical subjects (B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing or Material Engineering).
• Minimum 2 years practical engineering experience such as :
o Composite material and plastic Injection molding
o Forging, sheet metal stamping and CNC machining of aluminum
o Tube forming and bending processes
o Welding, brazing, heat treatment and machining of aluminum alloys
• Requires the ability to read and understand engineering drawings with GD&T
• Ability to use measuring instruments.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Pro/E (Creo).
• Communication in English verbal &/or written language is required. Chinese language skills a big plus.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with limited supervision.
• This position requires full-time residency in Binh Duong or Ho Chi Minh City.
