Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for a full of potential and reliable Mechanical QC Engineer to join our top qualified and knowledgeable team for one of our major projects in Egypt.

What you will need to do:

  • Implement and maintain the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program, participate in the three phases of control (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-up), and ensure compliance with contract specifications, approved drawings, international standards, and applicable codes.
  • Review and monitor shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, test reports, commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and maintain updated Submittal Registers.
  • Manage HVAC quality activities including AHUs, FCUs, ducts, fans, air conditioning & ventilation systems, ductwork, insulation, control systems, airflow balancing, Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB), commissioning, and performance verification.
  • Supervise Plumbing quality activities including domestic water systems, drainage, waste & vent systems, pressure testing, inspections, disinfection procedures, insulation, corrosion protection, and compliance with approved drawings/specifications.
  • Manage Fire Fighting quality activities including fire water networks, pumps, storage tanks, sprinkler & foam systems, fire alarm interfaces, hydraulic calculations, hydrostatic testing, pump performance testing, system commissioning, and compliance with NFPA standards.
  • Review and verify lifting operations including lifting plans (standard & critical lifts), crane selection, load capacities, crane/accessory certifications, rigging activities, operator qualifications, third-party inspections, and safe execution of lifting operations.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities including system readiness, functional performance tests, final inspections, punch list clearance, final commissioning reports, O&M documentation, and handover packages.
  • Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, project-specific requirements, and act as Competent/Qualified Person for mechanical and lifting activities when required.

 

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in construction projects, including minimum 3–5 years in QA/QC roles on similar projects.
  • Proven hands-on experience in HVAC Systems, Plumbing Systems, Fire Fighting Systems, Lifting Operations / Crane Supervision.
  • Strong experience in Testing, Commissioning, and large-scale projects is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE Standards (HVAC), ICC IMC / IPC (Mechanical & Plumbing Codes), NFPA Standards (Fire Fighting Systems), SMACNA Standards, EM 385-1-1, lifting safety standards, and UFC / USACE requirements.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces on-site.

 

What is nice to have:

  • CQM for Contractors (USACE), NEBB / ACG / TAB Certification, Lifting Supervisor / Rigger Certification, PMP Certification.
  • Previous experience in large-scale and international construction projects.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in construction projects with minimum 3-5 years in QA/QC roles
  • Proven hands-on experience in HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, ductwork, airflow balancing, TAB)
  • Proven hands-on experience in Plumbing systems (domestic water, drainage, pressure testing, disinfection)
  • Proven hands-on experience in Fire Fighting systems (fire water networks, pumps, sprinkler & foam systems, NFPA compliance)
  • Experience in lifting operations and crane supervision (lifting plans, rigging, certifications)
  • Strong experience in testing, commissioning and large-scale project handover
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, ICC IMC / IPC, NFPA, SMACNA, EM 385-1-1, UFC / USACE requirements
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and reporting skills; ability to manage multidisciplinary on-site interfaces
  • CQM for Contractors (USACE), NEBB / ACG / TAB Certification, Lifting Supervisor / Rigger Certification, PMP (nice to have)
  • Previous experience in large-scale and international construction projects
