Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to take our brands to the next level. The Mechanical Project Engineer will be deployed in our Engineering Department and take a dual role that combines project ownership with technical expertise in mechanical design and stress analysis. The Mechanical Project Engineer will support our current Engineering team in close cooperation with Sales, Business Development and Operations.

 What you’ll do:

• Handle cost calculations for customer specific Non-standard Product requests
• Assist in the cost calculation of Metal Framing projects, mainly related to Prefab
• Handle the work preparation of Prefab projects to assist Manufacturing.
• Performing Stress calculations to ensure the structural integrity of cable management systems
• Have a close cross-functional interaction with the colleagues
• Take accountability in your role as Mechanical Project Engineer

What you’ll bring:

• Technical expertise in mechanical engineering
• Strong affinity for structured and detailed work
• Expertise in mechanical stress analysis techniques
• Expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor is a necessity
• Ability of reading architectural industrial drawings ( Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing ) is a plus
• You have a relevant technical education and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar

function within the industrial sector

• Strong knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of SAP is a plus

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Complete your Atkore immersion program.
• Become a true team member of the R&D department
• Participate in the Product Development Status Update meetings
• Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
• Gain and understanding of our products through training and customer feedback/experience

Within 6 months, you’ll:

• Understand the cross-functional workflow from our company
• Have a good understanding of our product portfolio
• Have a good understanding of our production capabilities
• Be able to take ownership of small projects where cost and/or stress calculations are required
• Be involved with Metal Framing and Prefab projects

Within 12 months, you’ll:

• Be able to take ownership of bigger Engineering projects, regarding calculations and/or work preparation activities
• Be an important asset to our Engineering Team
