ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads advanced engineering pack mechanical fabrication, assembly, and debug activities to ensure successful delivery
Designs integration of high-voltage electrical elements including bus bars and power electronics, and ensure electrical isolation of same
Prepare packaging studies for all components and drive interface analysis and resolution
Perform tolerance stack analysis and develop assembly location and datum strategy
Identifies areas of risk and work quickly to prototype and mitigate these
Engages with component suppliers to specify and acquire quotes
Performs 3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assemblies
Optimizes designs via analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments
Integrates seamlessly with both the vehicle and advanced cell architectures
Performs self-guided R&D around novel pack structures and mechanical design
Performs any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Education Required Bachelors or better. Experience Preferred 3D modeling experience using NX and Teamcenter Hands-on experience in leading hardware designs from conceptual design through proof-of-concept Hands-on experience performing sub-assembly and top assembly testing, including test plan ownership and model correlation Experience working in an R&D prototype development environment Familiarity with small-volume manufacturing technologies and methods, and experience working with outside suppliers for same Structural analysis of metals and/or composites, including test data processing, loads derivation and fatigue analyses Thermal management of mechanical and electrical systems Experience with design for challenging environmental conditions in terms of vibration, water intrusion, corrosion, and thermal Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
